Today Colin would have been 40 years old. He used to joke that he hoped to be dead before he reached 40.
December is a busy month for birthdays in my life. I missed a best friend's birthday yesterday, and I feel awful. Happy birthday, RHG. I'm sorry I suck at this whole friend business.

I thought of him today too, and also the other day when I was in Winco in the cake mix aisle. His favorite was cherry chip, which is also my favorite. We were so dorky and excited when we found that out about each other, and that our birthdays were a day apart.
We'll make a toast to him on Saturday, okay?
