Journal Prompt: Gratitude
Three things I’m grateful for
1. Buddy reads I have a couple of book besties that I do buddy reads with - if you don’t know what a buddy read is: we read the same book at the same time and discuss along the way. I am an introvert and don’t need a lot of social interaction but I do need to connect with others and book discussions tick that box for me. I am reading The Measure right now and my poor buddy has outpaced me. She’s already finished, and I’m only about half way through. Even so, the discussions we’ve had so far have been so uplifting (even when the subject matter is melancholy).
2. Supplements I don’t have good eating habits but I get excited at the notion of improving my mental and physical condition through vitamins, supplements, and diet. I do a lot of research on nutrition and while some folks assume I’m unhealthy because I’m overweight and consume energy drinks, the reality is that I am working hard to consume the right nutrients, supplement where necessary, and exercise when I can. I don’t talk about it with others, because people already think my personal habits are open for discussion and I like to discourage that as much as possible. :)
3. Friends who share their skills, talents, and training A buddy of mine has been sharing some ideas with me that I have been able to incorporate into my daily practices and it’s making a world of difference for me. I am grateful to be surrounded by people who willingly and openly share their talents, but also their struggles. Knowing that others can relate to my own struggles and have overcome them is incredibly uplifting.
What are you grateful for today?
If you are looking to incorporate mindful journaling into your daily routine with the support of a coach, please consider reaching out to @coach_kpr on IG. I’ve known him for … well, more years than I think is polite to mention (it’s rude math, friends, and would force me to acknowledge that I’m older than I feel.) I don’t know a kinder, more compassionate person who listens without judging.
